Job summary

A leading recruitment agency is seeking an experienced Building Surveyor to join the Repairs, Maintenance & Planned Works team for a renowned London Local Authority. The role involves making decisions on housing maintenance, managing budgets, and ensuring health and safety standards are met. Candidates should have a thorough understanding of building contracts and regulations, and project management experience. This is an interim position with competitive pay rates of £350-£400 per day.

Qualifications

• Thorough knowledge of building contracts.
• Working knowledge of the Party Wall Act.
• Knowledge of repairs practice and planning.
• Ability to demonstrate knowledge of building construction and Building Regulations.
• Detailed knowledge of structural engineering and the Housing Construction and Regeneration Act.
• Experience in Project Management.
• MCIOB or MRICS preferred.

Responsibilities

• Balance workload and prioritize cases.

Overview

Exciting interim opportunity to work for one of the more renowned London Local Authorities. The client is in need of an experienced Building Surveyor with a successful track record in the Housing sector to join our Repairs, Maintenance & Planned Works team.

Role Responsibilities

• The Senior Surveyor will have expertise to make day-to-day decisions on the maintenance of the Council's housing stock.
• Work to demanding performance standards, maintain close control over budgets and provide close oversight of health and safety.
• Balance workload and prioritise cases according to the needs of the business and residents.
• Co-operate closely with other departments in the council to provide a joined-up service to residents.
• Effective management of complaints and casework to guarantee the high performance of the service.

Essential Experience

• Thorough knowledge of building contracts
• Thorough working knowledge of the Party Wall Act and making awards on behalf of the council or clients
• Thorough knowledge of repairs practice and planning
• Ability to demonstrate a working knowledge of building construction and Building Regulations
• Detailed knowledge of structural engineering and the Housing Construction and Regeneration Act
• Project Management
• MCIOB or MRICS ideal but not required

Rate

Inside IR35 • £350-£400 per day
