A leading company in infrastructure projects seeks an interfaces engineer to coordinate construction and licensing efforts for a major nuclear power project in Suffolk. The role involves ensuring compliance and effective integration of design and engineering throughout all project phases.
About the role
SZC is owned by two shareholders, EDF and HMG, through NNB Holdings Company (SZC) Limited. The shareholdings will change over time. The shareholders will fund SZC until Financial Close, following an approved schedule and budget. SZC's mission is to design, finance, construct, commission, operate, maintain, and decommission the nuclear power plant and related infrastructure at Sizewell C in Suffolk, including activities related to hydrogen, direct air capture, and desalination.
The current development phase aims to complete the Capital Raise Plan, including equity and debt raise, finalize core supply chain contracts, and obtain necessary permits and licenses for construction.
Previously part of EDF's Nuclear Development business unit, SZC is transitioning to an independent organization capable of delivering a new nuclear power plant from investment to decommissioning. The project is based on replicating the technical and commercial aspects of Hinkley Point C, with EDF being a key nuclear capability provider in the UK.
Key stakeholders include the UK Government, relevant departments and agencies, EDF, financial investors, regulators, partners, and local communities.
What you'll be doing
The interfaces engineer will ensure that the Enabling and Earthworks sections coordinate effectively with licensing and consenting bodies throughout all project phases. This involves integrating design and engineering to ensure compliance and delivery strategies.
