Job Title: Design Interface Engineer

Key responsibilities:

  1. Support the Design Interface Manager in coordinating engineering deliverables across civil, electrical, SCADA, and internal and external engineering teams.
  2. Review and manage interface documents such as layouts, primary drawings, secondary drawings, cable schedules, SCADA/EMS drawings.
  3. Liaise with external vendors, EPC contractors, ICPs, and internal teams to ensure interface consistency and timely submission.
  4. Track and close TQs and raise timely RFIs related to design inputs and stakeholder requirements.
  5. Support the preparation and maintenance of design trackers, interface registers, technical risk registers, and submission logs.
  6. Assist in reviewing SCADA/EMS interface documentation, signal lists, and auxiliary equipment specs.
  7. Work with the Design Interface Manager to ensure compliance with UK standards and electrical safety regulations (ENA, G99, BS, IEC, etc.).
  8. Participate in internal design review meetings and contribute to risk assessments (e.g., HAZID/HAZOP).
  9. Contribute to lessons learned and continuous improvement initiatives across the design portfolio.
  10. Participate in occasional site visits to support design coordination meetings, surveys, and technical resolution.
  11. Coordinate the preparation, review, and submission of a wide range of technical documents (as listed in the Master Documents Register) in collaboration with internal engineering teams and subject matter experts. Ensure all submissions are reviewed for compliance with Employer’s Requirements, Envision’s engineering standards and applicable codes and standards prior to client submission.

Qualification and expertise:

  1. Degree-qualified in Electrical Engineering or related discipline (essential)
  2. 3–8 years of experience in HV electrical design, grid-connected projects, or energy infrastructure
  3. Familiarity with design documents like SLDs, layout drawings, cable schedules, and SCADA block diagrams
  4. Exposure to UK DNO/ICP processes and grid code compliance (G99) desirable
  5. Strong communication and coordination skills
  6. Proactive attitude and willingness to take ownership of design packages under supervision
