Job summary

Blue Triangle (Glasgow) Housing Association Limited is seeking an Intensive Support Worker to provide flexible, trauma-informed support in community settings. The role focuses on sustaining tenancy, independence and wellbeing for individuals in blue triangle services and move-on housing.

Ideal candidates will have 1 year of experience with vulnerable people, a commitment to relevant SSSc/NCS standards and the ability to work flexibly as a lone worker within Scotland.

Qualifications

  • 1 year of experience working with vulnerable people preferred.
  • Commitment to SSSC code of practice and National Care Standards.
  • Ability to relate empathetically and support independence.
  • Ability to work flexibly and as a lone worker.

Responsibilities

  • Provide intervention and supports for new referrals and existing service users.
  • Deliver trauma-informed, person-centred and wellbeing-focused support.
  • Review and monitor outcomes using the SHARP monitoring tool.
  • Assist clients moving from supported accommodation to community and tenancy.

Job description

Salary: £28,251 per annum

Location: Kilmarnock Bank Street, Outreach Service

Contract Type: Permanent

Hours: Part Time (17.5 hours per week)

About the Role:

The support we provide is always person-centred, trauma-informed and wellbeing focused. As an Intensive Support Worker, you’ll work in the community to provide a wide range of flexible intensive support to individuals to encourage independence to maintain and sustain a tenancy and adapt to community life.

Main Responsibilities:
  1. Provide intervention and a range of supports for new referrals and existing Supported People in Blue Triangle’s supported accommodation services and move-on accommodation.
  2. To provide trauma-informed, person-centred, and wellbeing-focused support for people supported by Blue Triangle.
  3. To support, review, monitor and evaluate through our SHARP monitoring tool to achieve a positive person-centered outcome for the people we work with in line with Blue Triangle’s statutory and legislative requirements.
  4. To support people transitioning from supported accommodation into the local community or referred from other sources, helping them on their personal pathway towards a settled tenancy, building their tenancy and life management skills.
About You:
  • To join us, you need to have a genuine passion for helping people.
  • Ideally, possess 1 year of experience of working with vulnerable people and challenging behaviour which can be from personal, voluntary and/or professional experience.
  • Demonstrated commitment and ability to undertake care practice in accordance with Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) code of practice, National Care Standards, Scottish Commission for the Regulation of Care and the Associations policies and procedures.
  • Ability to relate empathetically to people and recognise their right to choice and independence.
  • Ability to work flexibly and as a lone worker.
  • Able to use Microsoft or equivalent applications competently.
  • Ideally hold an SVQ level 3 or above.
