Job summary

Blue Triangle in Kilmarnock is seeking an Intensive Support Worker to deliver flexible, person-centred support to individuals to help sustain tenancy and integrate into community life. The role covers 17.5 hours per week on a rota including some weekend work, across Kilmarnock with office base at Bank Street.

You will provide trauma-informed, wellbeing-focused assistance, support move-on, monitor progress with SHARP, and help clients build life management and tenancy skills, under experienced

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated passion for helping people.
  • 1 year experience with vulnerable people or challenging behaviour.
  • Commitment to SSSC code of practice and National Care Standards.
  • Ability to relate empathetically and support choice and independence.
  • Flexibility to work as a lone worker and across shifts.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft or equivalent applications.
  • SVQ3 or higher is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide intervention and range of supports for new referrals and existing service users.
  • Deliver trauma-informed, person-centred and wellbeing-focused support.

About the Role:

The support we provide is always person-centred, trauma-informed and wellbeing focused. As an Intensive Support Worker, you’ll work in the community to provide a wide range of flexible intensive support to individuals to encourage independence to maintain and sustain a tenancy and adapt to community life. Main Responsibilities: This Intensive Support Worker role working in the Kilmarnock area combines settled housing with person-centred, strengths-based and flexible support. This role involves working 17.5 hours per week on a rota covering various shift patterns including select weekend work. This role operates across Kilmarnock, with an office based at our Kilmarnock Bank Street service.

  • Provide intervention and a range of supports for new referrals and existing Supported People in Blue Triangle’s supported accommodation services and move-on accommodation.
  • To provide trauma-informed, person-centred, and wellbeing-focused support for people supported by Blue Triangle.
  • To support, review, monitor and evaluate through our SHARP monitoring tool to achieve a positive person-centered outcome for the people we work with in line with Blue Triangle’s statutory and legislative requirements.
  • To support people transitioning from supported accommodation into the local community or referred from other sources, helping them on their personal pathway towards a settled tenancy, building their tenancy and life management skills.
About You:
  • To join us, you need to have a genuine passion for helping people.
  • Ideally, possess 1 year of experience of working with vulnerable people and challenging behaviour which can be from personal, voluntary and/or professional experience.
  • Demonstrated commitment and ability to undertake care practice in accordance with Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) code of practice, National Care Standards, Scottish Commission for the Regulation of Care and the Associations policies and procedures.
  • Ability to relate empathetically to people and recognise their right to choice and independence.
  • Ability to work flexibly and as a lone worker.
  • Able to use Microsoft or equivalent applications competently.
  • Ideally hold an SVQ level 3 or above.
