Rivendell Children's Service is currently recruiting full-time, permanent Intensive Support Practitioners offering 37.5 hours per week. Rivendell is a registered care home for children, set in an idyllic location at Quarriers Village, supporting 4 children 24/7 with diverse needs such as autism & ADHD. Some children are non-verbal and have complex sensory needs and experienced trauma, and the team works to ensure a safe, calm, and nurturing environment where children can thrive.

As an Intensive Support Practitioner, you will:

  • Work as part of a team or individually on a 1:2:1 basis with each child.
  • Use your expertise to adapt support to meet individual needs.
  • Support children & young people by providing various experiences, including outings and activities aligned with their interests.
  • Assist with daily living activities such as cooking, promoting health & wellbeing, and personal care.
  • Respond appropriately to signs of distress and emergency situations.

Working pattern: This is a full-time, permanent role working 37.5 hours per week. Shifts are 7.5 hours long, including early shifts (7am – 2:30pm), late shifts (2pm – 9:30pm), and weekends on a rotational basis.

Minimum requirements:

  • SVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care (Children & Young People) and HNC are essential. If you do not hold both, you must hold one and be willing to work towards achieving the other within an agreed timeframe.
  • Experience and knowledge of working with children & families in similar settings.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Willingness to develop and adapt care based on individual needs.
  • Ability to support children, families, and young people, promoting rights, person-centered care, and trauma-informed approaches.
  • Flexibility and reliability.
  • A driver’s license and access to own transportation are desirable due to the location.
