Job description
Overview

The Intensive Care Pathway (ICP) is a specialised programme within the All Age Eating Disorder Service (AAEDS) that delivers intensive short‑term treatment to adults and children at risk of hospital admission. The ICP team works within NELFT’s Kent & Medway All Age Eating Disorders Service, which provides assessment, diagnosis and NICE‑concordant treatment for young people and adults with eating disorders.

Responsibilities
  • Operationally manage the ICP team with the team manager, coordinating the workload of clinical support workers, psychologists and nurses to ensure smooth operation from referral to discharge.
  • Co‑ordinate workload on a regular basis, offer support and supervision to the team, chair team meetings and ensure the lone‑working policy is followed for community staff.
  • Assess and treat all‑age patients presenting with an eating disorder within the ICP pathway, collaborating with adolescent and adult units for joint working and smooth transition to inpatient beds.
  • Attend and participate in MDT team meetings, CPA meetings for cases on the case load and liaise with other health and social professionals and agencies.
Qualifications

Experience and knowledge of working with the legal frameworks relating to the care and treatment of children and young people in crisis is required.
