Whittington Health NHS Trust is seeking an Audit Co-ordinator to manage ICNARC data collection within the Intensive Care unit, ensuring accurate daily data capture and timely reporting. The role includes leading administrative tasks for the Critical Care Follow Up Clinic and providing minute taking support for governance meetings.

TheAuditCo- Ordinator is primarily responsible for the Intensive Care National Audit and Research Centre (ICNARC) data collection. This involves the daily collection and classificationofpatient’s clinical data and demographics and uploading this data to online database platform. This involves being responsible for collating national mandated monthly and quarterly reports. The post holder will be working in a clinical environment within the Critical care Unit, which involves collecting data at the patient’s bedspace. The critical care unit cares for the sickest patients in the hospital and supports their friends and relatives during their admission

The post holder will be fully trained and supported by the clinical team in Critical Care, the post holder will be expected to manage this data, liaising with both ICNARC, Critical Care Consultants and Nurse Leads. The post holder will be expected to run monthly reports for unit and for areas outside of Critical Care, daily review of patient records within Critical Care to ensure data collection is completed in a timely manner and liaising with other hospitals sites for up-to-date data of transferred patients.

As well as the audit responsibility, the post holder will be the lead administrator for the Critical Care Follow Up Clinic and general Critical Care administration duties, including minute taking.

  • On clinic days to welcome patients – give out psychological questionnaires.

  • Validation of Critical Care data as per ICNARC coding system. This involves liaising with ICNARC senior nurses and consultants to ensure correct coding of diagnosis, alongside fillinginmissingdata,completinghospital outcomes,etc.
  • Create Monthly reports for the department, further departments within Whittington Trust and other external NHS bodies, for the purpose of governance, safety and QI work.
  • Liaisewithnursingandmedicalstafftoensureaccuracyofclinicaldata entry
  • Prepareregular cleandataset for exportto ICNARC, monthly, quarterly and yearly.
  • Liaisecloselywithexternal bodieslikeICNARCand theNorthCentral LondonNetwork and other hospitals with regards to data enquiries, analysis and reports which involves using clinical electronic systems.
