Job description

Who Are We?

Gain is the Private Markets Super App, a connected global platform transforming how leading investors, advisors, and corporates source, evaluate, and execute deals. By combining investment-grade intelligence, AI-powered workflows, and proprietary data in one unified platform, Gain enables top deal teams to move faster, reduce risk, and build conviction with confidence.

Gain is trusted across more than $1 trillion of private capital, used by 100% of MBB and Big Four firms, and by 80% of the world’s top 20 M&A advisory houses.

Recognized for fast innovation and impact, Gain has been named both US and EU Data Provider of the Year by PE Wire, awarded Global Financial Market Review’s Best Use of AI in Finance, and ranked in Sifted’s Top 100 Fastest‑Growing Companies, the Forbes 1000, and the Deloitte Technology Fast 50. Gain operates globally with offices in New York, London, Amsterdam, Frankfurt, Warsaw, and Bangalore.

What will you do?

We are expanding our Intelligence Origination team into Credit. This team is responsible for sourcing proprietary, transaction‑level credit intelligence across live and announced private equity‑related transactions. Unlike traditional newsrooms, our model is data‑first, capturing structured intelligence rather than producing news stories.

You will play a pivotal role in expanding our real‑time credit intelligence coverage. The focus is on the completeness, accuracy and speed of data capture - not editorial output. Your mission is to cultivate a trusted network of off‑record sources, including lenders, investment bankers, private equity sponsors, advisors, consultants and lawyers, to uncover proprietary market intelligence.

The insights you gather will be transformed into clean, machine‑readable data that powers our platform and forms the backbone of our clients' origination and transaction analysis workflows.

You'll speak with market participants on a background‑only basis, surfacing intelligence that rarely enters the public domain. Working closely with our analysts and research teams, you'll help convert raw market insight into structured, scalable data that fuels client workflows and supports better investment decisions.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Build and maintain a network of sources - including lenders, investment bankers, sponsors, advisors and lawyers
  • Conduct daily off‑record, high‑trust conversations to surface non‑public credit intelligence
  • Ensure high‑quality sourcing of proprietary datapoints that feed directly into the Gain platform
  • Collaborate closely with our in‑house analysts and research teams to ensure data completeness, consistency and structured format
  • Support the expansion of our real‑time transaction tracker and contribute to internal market intelligence sharing
Who are you?

You have:

  • 2–4 years of relevant professional experience and strong knowledge of private credit, leveraged finance, M&A, private equity, restructuring, or a related field
  • Experience sourcing market intelligence - in journalism, research, origination, investor relations or a related field
  • A background in covering deals in private credit, distressed debt/restructuring, high‑yield bond and leveraged loan offerings is preferred but not necessarily essential
  • Skilled at cultivating senior‑level sources and handling off‑record, background‑only conversations
  • Excellent communication and relationship‑building skills, both in‑person and remotely
  • High attention to detail and ability to work quickly without sacrificing accuracy
  • Comfortable operating independently as part of a fast‑moving, entrepreneurial team
What do we offer?
  • Competitive base salary and annual bonus linked to your performance
  • Attractive benefits including private medical insurance, health & wellbeing allowance, work‑from‑home budget, learning & coaching benefits, etc.
  • Flexible hybrid working model with 3 days per week in our London office
  • Healthy work‑life balance allowing for planability and personal commitments
  • Chance to grow with the company gaining increasing responsibilities, supported by lots of coaching and a feedback‑driven approach
  • Tremendous learning and career progression opportunities
  • International environment with hubs in New York, Amsterdam, London, Frankfurt, Warsaw, and Bangalore
  • Culture of trust, ownership and standard of excellence and fun working atmosphere with regular outings and events
  • Post product‑market fit and aspiring unicorn status - this is an excellent time to join & grow with us!
Does this sound like a perfect match?

We are proud of our wonderful product and believe it has lots of potential. We are growing fast and having fun while building our platform and company. Does this sound like a team you would like to become a part of? We are excited to get to know you and show you what we do!
