Job summary

Warwickshire County Council is seeking an experienced Intelligence Officer to lead intelligence-led decision making across Warwickshire Trading Standards. You will influence operational activity, strategic priorities and service delivery, helping protect consumers and support legitimate businesses.

The role requires substantial expertise in intelligence development and reporting, with responsibilities spanning strategic assessments, analytical outputs, and cross-agency collaboration.

  • Significant experience in intelligence development, research, assessment and analysis.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to translate complex information into actionable insight.

Responsibilities

  • Produce strategic and tactical intelligence assessments.
  • Develop intelligence packages, profiles and analytical reports (experience of i2 would be desirable).
  • Identify emerging risks, trends and threats.
  • Build relationships with local authorities, regulators and enforcement partners.
  • Champion intelligence-led decision making across the service.
  • Ensure information governance and intelligence handling compliance.
  • Provide guidance, training and mentoring to colleagues.
  • Drive improvements in intelligence systems, processes and technology.

Help shape intelligence-led regulation across Warwickshire

We're looking for an experienced and motivated Intelligence Officer to lead the development of intelligence-led decision making across Warwickshire Trading Standards. This role will influence operational activity, strategic priorities and service delivery, helping protect consumers, support legitimate businesses and tackle emerging threats.

About Us

Warwickshire Trading Standards has a strong reputation for delivering positive outcomes through innovation, partnership working and intelligence-led enforcement. Warwickshire hosts the Regional Coordination Team and Regional Intelligence Unit for the 14 authorities within the CenTSA partnership, providing opportunities to work across local, regional and national intelligence networks.

The Role

As the service lead for intelligence, you will champion intelligence-led working, implement the National Trading Standards Intelligence Operating Model, develop intelligence-sharing arrangements, and provide strategic and tactical assessments that inform decision making and business planning.
