Job summary

Spinwell Ltd is recruiting an Intelligence Officer in Birmingham to research, evaluate and enhance intelligence products, de-conflict sources, and inform client tasking processes. The role requires working within a secure environment and maintaining data integrity across multiple intelligence systems.

You will develop intelligence products, identify gaps, and collaborate with partner agencies while adhering to RIPA, MOPI, GDPR and related regulations.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of intelligence systems and processes.
• Knowledge of RIPA 2000.
• Effective interpersonal and communication skills.
• Sensitivity to diverse communities served by the team.
• Initiative and innovation in developing intelligence products.
• Knowledge of covert policing techniques.
• Ability to undertake sensitive enquiries with limited supervision while maintaining integrity.
• Knowledge of the National Intelligence Model (NIM) and NPCC Guidance on the Management of Police Information (MOPI).
• Knowledge of police systems, current legislation and procedures (e.g. GDPR, Human Rights Act, CPIA).
• Ability to work with minimum supervision while remaining team-focused.

Responsibilities

• Research, evaluate, develop and enhance scoping products based on operational priorities.
• Gather and de-conflict intelligence from multiple sources to inform tasking.
• Identify intelligence gaps and set requirements.
• Work in a secure environment as part of a professional team.
• Manage information to keep it up to date and accurate.
• Utilise Open Source capabilities to enhance intelligence products.
• Handle covert material in line with policy and process.
• Prepare and maintain RIPA and IPA applications.
• Review covert material and maintain high integrity.
• Collaborate with partner agencies and stakeholders for efficient relationships.
• Maintain high computer literacy across systems and digital tools.
• Communicate effectively to deliver quality intelligence.
• Support the Intelligence Professionalisation programme and NOS accreditation.
• Assist RIU on-call function.
