Job summary

Thames Valley Police invites applications for the Intelligence Analyst role within the Threat and Performance Department. This position supports decision-making and prioritisation of resources to disrupt Serious and Organised Crime (SOC) across the South East, with the ROCTA team.

You will apply recognised analytical techniques to develop high-quality intelligence products that inform strategic and tactical planning in the fight against serious and organised crime.

Qualifications

  • Act as a subject matter expert for SOC areas.
  • Contribute to improving understanding of SOC scale, threat, and nature.
  • Provide analytical insight to inform regional SOC response and assessments.
  • Support development of accurate, data-driven intelligence and analysis.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to maintain SOC picture.

Responsibilities

  • Act as a subject matter expert for SOC areas.
  • Contribute to improving law enforcement’s understanding of the scale, threat and nature of SOC.
  • Provide analytical insight to inform the regional response to SOC and contribute to the South East Strategic Assessment.
  • Support the development of accurate, data-driven intelligence and analysis.
  • Work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders within Law Enforcement and partner agencies to maintain a true picture of SOC in the South East.

SEROCU is pleased to invite applications for the role of Intelligence Analyst within the Threat and Performance Department . This position plays a critical role in supporting decision-making and the prioritisation of resources and specialist tactics to disrupt Serious and Organised Crime (SOC) .

This is an excitingand rewardingopportunity within the Regional Organised Crime Threat Assessment(ROCTA) teamto support the decision-making and prioritisation of resources and specialist tactics to disrupt Serious and Organised Crime .

As an Intelligence Analyst, you will apply recognised analytical techniques to develop high-quality intelligence products that inform both strategic and tactical planning in the fight against serious and organised crime.

You will work with multiple information sources to assess both known and emerging threats as outlined in theSouth EastControl Strategy, supporting evidence-based recommendations that enhance law enforcement responses, including detection, prevention, targeting, and disruption activities.

In this role, you will:

  • Act as asubject matter expert forspecific areas of SOC.
  • Contribute to improving law enforcement’s understanding of the scale,threatand natureofSOC.
  • Provideanalytical insight to inform theregionalresponseto SOC and contribute to theSouth EastStrategic Assessment.
  • Support the development ofaccurate, data-driven intelligenceand analysis.
  • Workcollaborativelywithinternal and external stakeholders, withinLaw Enforcementand partner agencies,tomaintaina true picture ofSOC within theSouth East.

Please note that this role is part of a national,regionaland local network and as a result you maybe requiredto travel for business purposesmainly acrossthesouth eastregion and occasionally throughout the UK. Therefore,a full UK driving licence is essential for this role.

Due to the nature of our work, security is of paramount importance to us and therefore it will be necessary to pass andmaintainvetting levelSC together witha number ofenhanced security checks. In order toachieve this, you must be a British National and have resided in the UK for the past five years. Exemptions may apply for overseas or other diplomatic service (with HM Government), and studying abroad.
