Job description

We are looking for an Integration and Support Coordinator to become a vital part of the Refugee, Resettlement & Migration Service.

You will play an essential part in delivering a resettlement and wraparound support service respectively, to refugee households in the locality of West Sussex.

Salary: £28,624 to £31,067 per annum

Contract Type: Permanent

Working Pattern: Full-time (37 hours per week)

Location: County Hall, West Street, Chichester PO19 1RQ

Interview Date: Thursday 08 May and Friday 09 May 2025

This role requires the successful candidate to travel throughout the county for visits. Regular attendance at your base location will also be necessary, and there will be opportunities for remote work. Final arrangements will be confirmed with the successful candidate.

This role requires the successful candidate to engage confidently with families in person. While the role does not involve managing a caseload, there is an expectation to support case holders and to take initiative in independently delivering transactional activities.

You will need to be able to travel independently around the county, including to areas that may not be easily accessible by public transport. Pool cars and pool bikes available.

About the job

In this diverse and impactful role, you will play an essential part of the Integration and Support Team, responsible for ensuring adherence to all processes and policies.

Our work in Integration and Support Team and any given day can often feel quite different from the next! There will be some key responsibilities likely to feature in this role, including:

  • Delivering a self-directed, proactive, and confidential customer service and professional support to the Integration and Support Team, the Director for Communities, as well as senior managers and team members within the Communities Directorate.
  • Supporting the Integration and Support Workers in ensuring the compliance of form completion, milestone visits, maintaining system records, engaging in face-to-face interactions with families, and managing low-level transactional activities.
  • Writing responses to customers, send and receive emails using a range of software tools.
  • Providing dedicated support to our internal and external customers, as well as our wider team, by handling administrative duties and ensuring process compliance.
  • Work directly with families on low level tasks: visiting home addresses, connecting with hosts and the individuals or families being supported through the scheme, and diligently completing the necessary paperwork associated with those important milestone visits.
  • Support case holders and take initiative in independently managing transactional activities.

Required experience and skills

  • Educated to GCSE standard or equivalent qualifications, or demonstrable comparable experience.
  • Experience of working in a busy customer service role, providing information, meeting face to face, resolving queries and prioritising calls.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to convey technical information to customers in a clear and meaningful way.
  • High IT competency including a good knowledge of Microsoft packages, specialist software, social media and have a keen eye for detail when checking and inputting data.
  • Experience of using relevant systems to record and check data with care to support service delivery.
  • Skills to effectively prioritize amidst competing demands and maintain a sense of calm and professionalism while engaging with irate, unhappy, or distressed customers.
