ESS also integrates project management, risk assessment, functional safety, and cybersecurity to ensure ASPICE compliance and deliver reliable, secure embedded systems & solutions.
The Role
We are looking for a highly motivated and technically proficient BEV Integration Engineer to lead the system-level integration of Battery Electric Vehicle (BEV) propulsion systems. This role ensures seamless operation and communication between electric drive units, battery management systems, vehicle supervisory controls, and thermal management systems. You will work cross-functionally with software, hardware, calibration, and vehicle teams to validate performance, resolve integration issues, and support delivery milestones from concept through production.
Area of Responsibility
System Integration & Validation
- Lead integration of BEV propulsion components including e-motors, inverters, battery packs, and vehicle control units
- Ensure robust operation of torque delivery, regenerative braking, energy management, and drive mode transitions
- Support vehicle-level testing, fault diagnosis, and calibration refinement across development phases
- Validate system-level functionality through bench, HIL, and in-vehicle testing
Issue Resolution & Debugging
- Perform root cause analysis of system-level faults and interface mismatches
- Use diagnostic tools (e.g., CANalyzer, INCA, Vector tools) to log data, flash software, and debug control behavior
- Collaborate with suppliers and OEM stakeholders to triage and resolve integration challenges
Requirements & Documentation
- Develop and manage system-level integration requirements and interface specifications
- Ensure traceability between functional requirements, software implementation, and validation results
- Support compliance with ASPICE, ISO 26262, and cybersecurity standards
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Interface with propulsion software, calibration, thermal systems, and electrical architecture teams
- Participate in technical reviews, gateway assessments, and program delivery meetings
- Provide integration status updates and risk assessments to program leadership
