We’re looking for an Integration Developer to join our Data Services and Integration team. The Data Services and Integration team supports the RNLI through the delivery of the integration roadmap in order to align our data services and enhance our data self-serve capabilities.

Your role

As an Integration Developer you will be tasked with focus on the following areas:

  • Design, develop, and implement robust APIs (Application Programming Interfaces) that enable data exchange and interactions between various software systems.
  • Create API specifications, documentation, and guidelines to ensure consistent and effective API usage, supporting our data users in this process.
  • Collaborate with business analysts and IT teams to gather integration requirements and translate them into effective API integration solutions.
  • Build integrations that support real-time data synchronization, automate processes, and enhance user experiences.
  • Identify and resolve API integration issues promptly, collaborating with development and IT teams to implement effective solutions.
  • Ensure appropriate security protocols and authentication mechanisms are in place and review these often to ensure that our API interactions are appropriately safeguarded.
  • Manage the lifecycle of APIs including unit testing, monitoring, versioning, DevOps and best practices.
About you

You’ll be a technology specialist with a solid background in the design and development of end-to-end data centric solutions who has strong communication skills and an enthusiasm for knowledge growth in the data space. Used to working with non-technical people on one side and technicians on the other.

To be considered as the Integration Developer you will need:

  • Proven experience as an API Integration Developer or similar role, with a focus on designing, developing, and optimising APIs.
  • Proficiency in API development and integration using technologies such as REST, SOAP, JSON, and XML, and utilising API documentation such as swagger/ YAML
  • Familiarity with API management tools and platforms, such as Postman and Gravitee
  • Strong understanding of data mapping, transformation, and synchronization techniques, as well as CI/CD
  • Problem-solving skills with the ability to diagnose and resolve integration issues efficiently.
  • Excellent communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams and convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
