Job summary

GCS is seeking an Integration Developer to design, develop, and maintain data integration solutions across systems. You will collaborate with stakeholders to understand requirements and implement scalable integration workflows using middleware and integration platforms.

You will work with platforms such as MuleSoft, Dell Boomi, or Apache Camel, implement data transformations, and ensure data quality through testing and robust error handling.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• Proven experience as an integration developer with data integration knowledge.
• Familiarity with SSMS, Azure Data Factory, SSIS, and Logic Apps.
• Proficiency in programming languages such as SQL.
• Strong understanding of data formats, protocols, and standards (JSON, XML, REST, SOAP).

This role requires SC Active or recently lapsed.

ROLE PURPOSE

As an Integration Developer, your primary responsibility is to design, develop, and maintain data integration solutions that enable seamless communication and data exchange between disparate systems. You will collaborate with stakeholders to understand integration requirements, design integration workflows, and implement scalable and robust solutions. Your role involves working with integration platforms, tools, and technologies to ensure the reliable and efficient flow of data across the organization.

PRINCIPLE ACCOUNTABILITIES:

1. Integration Design: Collaborate with business stakeholders, IT teams, and external partners to gather integration requirements and define integration workflows. Design data mappings, transformations, and message schemas to facilitate the exchange of data between systems
2. Development and Implementation: Develop, test, and deploy integration solutions using integration platforms, middleware, and programming languages. Write integration code, configure connectors, and implement error handling mechanisms to ensure data integrity and reliability.
3. Integration Platforms and Tools: Work with integration platforms such as MuleSoft, Dell Boomi, or Apache Camel to build and deploy integration solutions. Configure integration flows, connectors, and APIs to connect to various systems and endpoints.
4. Data Transformation and Mapping: Implement data transformation logic to convert data formats, structures, and protocols between source and target systems. Develop reusable components, functions, and templates to streamline data integration processes.
5. Testing and Debugging: Conduct unit tests, integration tests, and end-to-end tests to validate the functionality, performance, and reliability of integration solutions. Troubleshoot issues, debug errors, and implement fixes to ensure smooth operation of integration processes.
6. Documentation and Reporting: Document integration designs, configurations, and implementation details to support ongoing maintenance and troubleshooting. Provide status updates, progress reports, and issue resolutions to project stakeholders and team members.
7. Collaboration and Communication: Collaborate with cross-functional teams including developers, testers, business analysts, and stakeholders to ensure alignment of integration solutions with business requirements. Communicate technical concepts, project status, and risks effectively to key stakeholders.
8. Continuous Learning: Stay updated on emerging technologies, integration patterns, and best practices in data integration. Participate in training programs, workshops, and knowledge sharing sessions to enhance your skills and expertise.

PERSON SPECIFICATION:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
• Proven experience as an integration developer or similar role with knowledge of data integration concepts and technologies.
• Familiarity with integration platforms and tools such as SSMS, Azure Data Factory, SSIS, Logic Apps
• Proficiency in programming languages such as SQL.
• Strong understanding of data formats, protocols, and standards (e.g., JSON, XML, REST, SOAP).
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail with a focus on delivering high-quality integration solutions.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively in a team environment.
• Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and adapt to changing requirements and priorities.
