Job summary

Energy Jobline CVL is recruiting an Integration Architect for a public sector organisation in Edinburgh. The role is hybrid with 1–2 days in the office per week. Salary ranges from £50,253 to £61,759 per annum, for a full-time permanent position.

You will lead the design, development and support of the integration architecture, ensuring secure and efficient data flows across systems, aligned with enterprise architecture and business goals.

• Significant proven success implementing an architected and secure approach to system integration in complex environments.
• In-depth knowledge of integration middleware and enterprise architecture concepts.
• Ability to provide technical leadership, communicate complex information clearly to all levels.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design, implementation, documentation and support of integration architecture across multiple systems.
• Collaborate with Development Services and Information Security to apply API and middleware security controls.
• Review projects with the Enterprise Architect to ensure conformance to standards.
• Establish patterns, standards and governance for application integration and maintain architecture records.
• Evaluate impact of changes in third-party applications and plan actions to maintain service availability.
• Provide technical leadership and communicate integration architecture to stakeholders.

This is a public sector organisation with a complex IT environment serving multiple organisational units. The organisation operates across Enterprise Architecture, IS Applications, and Information Services, supporting integrated business processes and consistent data management across the institution.

Integration Architect - The Role:

You will lead the design, development, and support of the our client’s integration architecture, enabling integrated business processes and consistent data flows across multiple systems. You will interpret business needs and deliver solutions aligned with the our client’s strategic goals and enterprise architecture. The role involves working with service owners, software developers, and colleagues in Development Services and Information Security to ensure systems integrate securely and effectively.

Integration Architect - Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the design, implementation, documentation and support of integration architecture, enabling consistent and timely integration of business processes and data across multiple systems
• Work with Development Services and Information Security to implement security controls for APIs and integration middleware
• Review projects with the Enterprise Architect to ensure they conform to enterprise architecture standards
• Establish patterns, standards and governance processes for application integration, maintaining accurate records in the architecture repository
• Evaluate the impact of changes in third-party applications and plan appropriate actions to maintain service availability
• Provide technical leadership and communicate integration architecture to stakeholders across the University and external parties

Integration Architect - You:

• Significant proven success implementing an architected and secure approach to system integration in complex environments
• In-depth skills with integration middleware and authoritative knowledge of enterprise architecture concepts
• Understanding of security threats and appropriate controls, with awareness of system development project lifecycles
• Ability to provide technical leadership, work under pressure, and communicate complex information clearly to all levels
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to absorb complex information and identify key points
