Job description
Overview

Integrated Pre-Registration Trainee Pharmacy Technician opportunity at Doncaster & Bassetlaw Teaching Hospitals NHS FT. This involves completing the Level 3 Diploma in Principles and Practice for Pharmacy Technicians through a 2-year apprenticeship at Doncaster & Bassetlaw Teaching Hospitals and a second placement site (TBC). You'll follow a rotational training programme across Dispensary, Wards, and Aseptic units, gaining the skills needed to register with the GPhC and become a qualified Pharmacy Technician.

Entry requirements

Applicants must have 4 GCSEs (grade 4/C or above) including English Language, Maths, and a Science. You must be organised, reliable, and able to meet deadlines independently and in a team.

Training details

Training includes 3.5 days on-the-job and 1.5 days off-the-job distance learning. You'll gain experience in dispensing, automated systems, ward-based services, and aseptic preparation, supporting excellent patient care.

Main duties of the job
  • Prepare meds aseptically/extemporaneously under supervision
  • Support stock control in pharmacy and wards
  • Assist with pharmaceutical services across Trust
  • Cover other roles to support operations
  • Follow safety policies and SOPs
  • Attend training at other hospitals if needed
  • Maintain professional appearance and conduct
  • Follow Learning Agreement
