Job summary

M&G plc’s Insurance Reporting team seeks a qualified accountant to embed statutory liquidity reporting within BAU, support IFRS and UK GAAP analyses, and help lead the liquidity reporting workload within the Insurance Analysis function.

The role requires oversight of data governance, strong technical accounting knowledge, and collaboration with Finance and external auditors to sustain robust financial reporting and governance.

Qualifications

• Highly analytical with a strong commercial mind-set and ability to distil complex ideas into simple plans.
• Understanding of data management and control principles; able to map data transformations.
• Able to communicate complex topics effectively and influence senior stakeholders.
• Assessment of governance, risk management and control across the finance function.
• Awareness of evolving regulatory framework affecting M&G plc.

Responsibilities

• Monitor data provision, transformation and governance for regulatory Liquidity reporting within required timescales.
• Embed regulatory Liquidity reporting within BAU processes.
• Develop and agree key controls and governance for monthly liquidity reporting.
• Transition liquidity reporting work to BAU teams when embedded.
• Manage and develop the liquidity reporting team’s skills and training.
• Support statutory results analysis on UK GAAP and IFRS, with commentary for board reports.
• Support Group reporting analyses on IFRS and UK GAAP with commentary.
• Collaborate with Analysis team leads on IFRS/UK GAAP and asset valuations.
• Ensure internal controls are effective, timely and compliant.
• Coordinate external audit processes for areas of responsibility.
• Support board and audit committee financial reporting production.
• Drive continuous improvement in accounting processes and cross-team collaboration.
• Participate in ad hoc projects to enhance processes.
