Job summary

M&G Insurance Reporting team is hiring to embed regulatory liquidity reporting, with a focus on embedding processes, controls and governance within BAU. The role will evolve to include all aspects of insurance analysis, including IFRS and UK GAAP reporting bases.

The successful candidate will work with actuaries and accountants, support data governance, and contribute to other finance change projects while collaborating with colleagues across M&G Finance.

Qualifications

  • Highly analytical with the ability to solve problems.
  • Strong system skills and the ability to analyze complex data.
  • Experience in analysing Insurance financial results on UK GAAP and IFRS.
  • Proficient in MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint.
  • Knowledge of Finance systems and data.
  • Experience with Oracle, Power BI and Tagetik is advantageous.

Responsibilities

  • Support monitoring of data provision, transformation and governance for regulatory Liquidity reporting on time.
  • Support embedding regulatory Liquidity reporting within BAU processes.
  • Help develop and agree key controls and governance for monthly regulatory liquidity sign-off.
  • Assist transitioning liquidity reporting to BAU teams when embedded.
  • Analyse statutory results on UK GAAP and IFRS, produce commentary for board reports.
  • Analyse IFRS contributions to Group reports with commentary.
  • Assist in producing UK GAAP results and IFRS contributions to Group.
  • Collaborate with actuaries and accountants within the Insurance Analysis team.
  • Support new reporting standards and other finance change projects.
  • Support audits of regulated insurance entity results and accounts.
  • Collaborate with colleagues across M&G Finance.
  • Maintain strong working relationships with other teams across M&G Finance.
  • Participate in ad hoc projects to support continuous improvement.

Role Summary

The Insurance Reporting team at M&G includes the Insurance Analysis team, which is responsible for the analysis of Financial Statements for M&G Insurance Reporting. The reporting team has responsibility for the financial, statutory and regulatory reporting.

A vacancy has arisen to join the Insurance Analysis team. The role covers a broad range of responsibilities but in the short term will focus on embedding the process for statutory liquidity reporting including formalising the process, controls and governance within BAU. Longer term the role will evolve to include all aspects of insurance analysis including IFRS and UKGAAP reporting bases.

Accountabilities / Responsibilities
  • Support the monitoring of data provision, transformation, and governance for regulatory Liquidity reporting in required timescales.
  • Support embedding the regulatory Liquidity reporting within the BAU processes.
  • Support developing and agreeing the key controls and governance process required for senior management to sign off regulatory liquidity reporting on a monthly basis.
  • Support transitioning the liquidity reporting work to the relevant BAU teams once it is embedded.
  • Analysis and challenge of the regulated insurance entities Statutory results on a UK GAAP basis ensuring completeness, accuracy and compliance with reporting requirements and produce commentary on the results for the statutory board reports.
  • Analysis and challenge of the regulated insurance entities contribution to Group on an IFRS basis ensuring completeness, accuracy and compliance with reporting requirements and produce commentary on the results for Group board reports.
  • Support the Insurance Reporting Production team to produce and finalise the UK GAAP results and the insurance entities contribution to Group on an IFRS.
  • Collaborate with actuaries and accountants within the Insurance Analysis team.
  • Support implementation of new reporting standards and delivery of other finance change projects.
  • Support audits of the regulated insurance entity results and accounts.
  • Support and deliver other finance change projects.
  • Collaborate effectively with colleagues and maintain effective working relationships with other teams across M&G Finance.
  • Ad hoc tasks and participation in ad hoc projects to support continuous improvement and process enhancement

Experience
  • Knowledge of Finance systems and data.
  • Knowledge and experience in analysing and interpreting Insurance financial results both on a UK GAAP and IFRS basis.
  • Proficient in the use of MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint.
  • Working knowledge of Oracle, Power BI and Tagetik an advantage.
Educational Qualification

Newly or part qualified actuarial (IFoA) or accounting qualification (e.g. CA, ACA, ACCA) preferred.
