An established insurer in London is seeking an Accounting Manager to own underwriting results reporting, month-end accounting and financial controls. You will lead a small finance team and partner with FP&A, actuarial, reinsurance, and regulatory teams to deliver accurate financial reporting.

Qualifications

• Qualified accountant with strong insurance accounting background.
• Experience leading a small finance team and managing monthly reporting cycles.
• Proven ability to interpret complex financial data and drive process improvements.
• Advanced Excel; knowledge of Alteryx/SQL or comparable finance systems is advantageous.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead monthly, quarterly and annual underwriting results reporting (premiums, claims, reserves, acquisition costs).
• Oversee end-to-end month-end accounting process and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Maintain robust financial controls and support regulatory reporting.
• Lead, coach and develop a small finance team.
• Collaborate with FP&A, actuarial, reinsurance, regulatory reporting and external audit teams.
