Job summary

Altrad are currently looking for an experienced Insulation Engineer to join the team at Salford for site works. The role involves 38 hour weeks from Monday to Friday and is paid under TICNA agreements at 23.45 per hour.

It is a fixed-term position ending around 30/10/2026, with local labour only. Key deliverables include adhering to health and safety policies, clear communication during pre-job briefings, teamwork, and applying proper insulation techniques in line with BS:5970:2012 and client

Qualifications

• Understand and follow Altrad Health and Safety policy and ensure compliance on site.
• Communicate effectively during pre-job briefings with the team.
• Work well within a team environment and support colleagues.
• Have a basic understanding of thermal insulation activities, both theoretically and practically.
• Read and follow method statements and risk assessments to perform tasks safely.
• Select the correct insulation materials and finishes for various applications.
• Know the use and maintenance of tools and equipment on site.
• Identify health and safety risks and report any defects to supervisors.
• Remove and re-apply insulation materials according to BS 5970:2012 and client procedures.
• Follow supervisor instructions and maintain professional conduct.
• Keep work areas tidy and maintain good housekeeping.
• Report accidents, incidents and near misses promptly.

Responsibilities

• Carry out insulation tasks on site in accordance with method statements.
• Adhere to Altrad safety policies and company procedures at all times.
• Collaborate with the site team to ensure timely delivery of works.

Key Deliverables

• To understand the Altrad Health and Safety policy and ensure the policy is adhered to by all employees
• Demonstrate effective communication, actively participating with pre-job briefings.
• Ability to work effectively within a team working environment.
• The ability to have a basic understanding and knowledge of Thermal Insulation activities, both theoretically and practically.
• The ability to understand method statements and risk assessments to carryout tasks safely.
• To demonstrate the ability to select the correct Insulation materials and finishes relevant to various applications and changing operational environments.
• Knowledge of the use of tools and equipment and to ensure they are correctly maintained.
• Identify and escape any significant risks to health and safety and report risks and any defects to the Supervisor and safety teams.
• The ability to remove and Insulation materials and finishes and re-apply in conjunction with the current industry standards (BS: 5970:2012), and in compliance with the Altrad and client procedures and specifications.
• The ability to undertake instruction from the Supervisor and act with professionalism.
• Monitor and maintain good housekeeping, ensuring work areas are kept tidy.
• Report any Accidents, Incidents and Near misses to the Site Supervisor or Site Manager immediately.

Key Requirements / Qualifications

• Valid TICA Card or Equivalent qualification
• Have a valid CCNSG Safety Passport
• Have previous site experience
