Job Description

About the Role:

We are currently seeking a skilled and experienced Instrument Technician to join our team on a contract basis. This role will support field operations within an oil & gas or petrochemical plant environment, contributing to commissioning, maintenance, and operational readiness of instrumentation systems.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Perform installation, calibration, maintenance, and repair of instrumentation and control systems
  2. Support field operations, including commissioning, loop checks, and functional testing
  3. Troubleshoot and resolve faults on a wide range of field instruments
  4. Complete all relevant technical documentation and site paperwork accurately and on time
  5. Ensure compliance with site safety procedures, industry standards, and hazardous area regulations
  6. Assist with shutdowns, start-ups, and other time-critical site activities
Requirements:
  • Proven experience in a similar role within oil & gas or petrochemical plant environments
  • Strong understanding of instrumentation systems, loop drawings, and control systems
  • Hands-on experience with field commissioning, loop checks, and instrument diagnostics
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multi-disciplinary team
  • Excellent attention to detail and commitment to safety
Desirable:
  • CompEx certification (Hazardous Area Equipment) - but not essential
  • Familiarity with industry-standard documentation and QA/QC processes
