Hobson Prior is seeking an Instrumentation Engineer to join a dynamic team focused on ensuring the safe, efficient, and reliable operation of industrial processes. In this role, you will design, specify, and integrate instrumentation and control systems while maintaining high standards of safety and compliance. This is a site-based position.

Please note that to be considered for this role you must have the right to work in this location.

Responsibilities:

  • Design, install, and calibrate instruments like sensors, transmitters, and control valves.
  • Perform maintenance tasks and ensure timely completion of work tickets.
  • Ensure accurate measurements and controls for safe plant operations.
  • Investigate and resolve instrument failures.
  • Develop specifications for process measurements (e.g., pressure, temperature, flow).
  • Participate in system installations and calibrations.
  • Maintain safe working areas and adhere to housekeeping standards.
  • Apply good manufacturing practices in facilities and documentation.
  • Understand validation requirements for equipment installations.

Key Skills and Requirements:

  • Experience working to GMP within a pharmaceutical, biotechnology or food manufacturing environment
  • Apprenticeship or Degree qualification in engineering
  • Knowledge of electrical systems
  • Basic understanding of field instruments, P&IDs, and loop diagrams.
  • Experience with systems like air handling units, high-purity water systems equipment, and filling machines.
