Job title: Instrumentation & Electrical Designer M/F/D

Position Context:

Reporting to the Project & Engineering Manager

The role involves designing process plant instrumentation and electrical power systems according to standards, including loop design, panel design, control system interfaces, PLC/DCS interface, hardwired ESD, and electrical design. It also entails designing power distribution, wiring, lighting, heat tracing, and instrumentation installation, along with compiling design packages and procurement specifications. The designer will supervise installation, commissioning, and testing, create plans using AutoCAD, estimate costs and timelines, coordinate with technicians, ensure safety regulations, support installation and maintenance activities, and ensure compliance with standards and legislation such as CDM, COSHH, LOLER, PUWER, and DSEAR. They will also provide technical support for incident investigations and hazard reviews.

Required skills :

Strong organizational, leadership, and management skills. Good communication and project management skills. Knowledge of hazardous area design, especially Intrinsic Safety (IS). Proficiency in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office. Understanding of engineering principles. Minimum HNC qualification in a relevant engineering discipline. Knowledge of strategic planning and turnaround activities.
