Job summary

A leading engineering firm is seeking a Senior / Principal Controls & Instrumentation Engineer based in Hemel Hempstead. In this role, you will be responsible for functional design, technical documentation, and liaising with clients. This position requires strong knowledge in PLC programming and the ability to work effectively in technical teams.

Qualifications

• Relevant STEM Degree or equivalent required.
• Experience in PLC and SCADA programming is advantageous.
• Good technical knowledge in Communications Systems or Control & Instrumentation.

Senior / Principal Controls & Instrumentation Engineer

What you’ll be doing as a Controls & Instrumentation Engineer:

• Undertaking functional design, providing specialist advice, and producing evidence
• Liaising with internal and external customers as part of a technical team
• Electrical/Electronic installation for Communications and Control & Instrumentation
• Design of Test Infrastructure and Hardware
• Writing and producing technical & test documents

Your skills and experiences as a Controls & Instrumentation Engineer:

• A relevant Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) Degree or equivalent
• Experience in PLC and SCADA programming, C&I system verification test design, or parts specification would be advantageous
• Good technical knowledge of practicing in at least one of the following areas: Communications Systems (Voice Over IP (VOIP) networks, Broadcast (PA), or trunked radio systems) or Control & Instrumentation (Siemens, Allen Bradley, and Fanuc PLCs)
