Job summary

An established industry player is seeking a hands-on Instrument Technician for a contract role in a dynamic environment. You will be part of a multi-skilled team focused on maintaining instrumentation and control systems critical for gas processing from offshore fields. This role involves working on a 7 days on / 7 days off rotation with 12-hour shifts, ensuring safety and operational performance are prioritized. Job description

Are you a hands-on Instrument Technician looking for your next contract role? Our client is offering an excellent opportunity to join a multi-skilled team, where safety and operational performance are key. You’ll be working in a technically challenging environment, helping to maintain the site’s instrumentation and control systems that support the processing of gas from offshore fields.

Based on a 7 days on / 7 days off rotation, working 12-hour shifts.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and repair a wide range of instruments and control systems to ensure safe and efficient plant operation.
  • Carry out preventative maintenance in line with schedules and procedures.
  • Diagnose faults and perform breakdown repairs with minimal disruption to production.
  • Accurately complete maintenance records in Maximo and raise work requests for any defects.
  • Manage calibration gases and spares for testing gas monitoring equipment.
  • Support shutdown planning and execution.
  • Work closely with contractors and vendors on site activities.
  • Promote and uphold strict Health, Safety & Environmental standards.

What You’ll Need:

  • Time-served trade apprenticeship in Instrumentation or similar.
  • HNC (or equivalent) in a relevant engineering discipline.
  • Compex certification is essential.
  • Experience working with turbine control systems is highly desirable.
  • Knowledge of compression fittings and small bore tubing would be an advantage.
  • A proactive, safety-focused mindset and good fault-finding ability.
  • Must reside in or near East Riding of Yorkshire.
