Job summary

An established industry player is seeking a hands-on Instrument Technician for a contract role in a technically challenging environment. Job description

Are you a hands-on Instrument Technician looking for your next contract role? Our client is offering an excellent opportunity to join a multi-skilled team, where safety and operational performance are key. You’ll be working in a technically challenging environment, helping to maintain the site’s instrumentation and control systems that support the processing of gas from offshore fields.

Based on a 7 days on / 7 days off rotation, working 12-hour shifts.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Maintain and repair a wide range of instruments and control systems to ensure safe and efficient plant operation.
  2. Carry out preventative maintenance in line with schedules and procedures.
  3. Diagnose faults and perform breakdown repairs with minimal disruption to production.
  4. Accurately complete maintenance records in Maximo and raise work requests for any defects.
  5. Manage calibration gases and spares for testing gas monitoring equipment.
  6. Support shutdown planning and execution.
  7. Work closely with contractors and vendors on site activities.
  8. Promote and uphold strict Health, Safety & Environmental standards.

What You’ll Need:

  1. Time-served trade apprenticeship in Instrumentation or similar.
  2. HNC (or equivalent) in a relevant engineering discipline.
  3. Compex certification is essential.
  4. Experience working with turbine control systems is highly desirable.
  5. Knowledge of compression fittings and small bore tubing would be an advantage.
  6. A proactive, safety-focused mindset and good fault-finding ability.
  7. Must reside in or near east Riding of Yorkshire.
