Bohr Limited in Stone, Staffordshire is seeking an Instrument Pipefitter to join our team at the Head Office. Requirements include proven experience in gas/industrial sectors, ability to read P&IDs and drawings, and a proactive approach to quality and safety.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience as an Instrument Pipefitter in gas, petrochemical, power, pharma, or process industries.
  • Ability to read engineering drawings and P&IDs.
  • Experience with tubing installation, bending and fittings.
  • Knowledge of compression fittings and small-bore tubing.
  • Strong understanding of mechanical and instrumentation installation.
  • Good communication and teamwork.
  • Ability to work independently and on major construction projects.

Responsibilities

  • Install and assemble instrument tubing, impulse lines, and pneumatic piping.
  • Read P&IDs, isometric drawings, and engineering specifications.
  • Measure, cut, bend, and fabricate tubing to required standards.
  • Install supports and fixings for instrument tubing systems.
  • Perform tube bending and routing per project specs.
  • Ensure leak-free joints and conduct pressure tests.
  • Identify defects and report safety concerns.
  • Maintain tools and keep work areas safe and tidy.
  • Assist commissioning and start-up activities as required.

Job description

We are looking for an Instrument Pipefitter to join our team at our Head Office in Stone, Staffordshire.

The Instrument Pipefitter is responsible for the installation, fabrication, assembly, and maintenance of instrument tubing and small-bore piping systems. The role ensures that all work is completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with engineering drawings, specifications, quality standards, and company procedures.

Responsibilities
  • Install and assemble instrument tubing, impulse lines, pneumatic piping, and associated fittings.
  • Read and interpret P&IDs (Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams), isometric drawings, engineering drawings, and specifications.
  • Measure, cut, bend, and fabricate tubing and pipework to required standards.
  • Install supports, brackets, trays, and fixings for instrument tubing systems.
  • Perform tube bending and routing in accordance with project specifications and industry standards.
  • Ensure all fittings, connections, and joints are correctly assembled and leak-free.
  • Conduct pressure testing and continuity checks where required.
  • Identify and report defects, non-conformances, or safety concerns.
  • Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in a safe and tidy condition.
  • Comply with all site health, safety, environmental, and quality procedures.
  • Participate in toolbox talks, risk assessments, and permit-to-work processes.
  • Support commissioning and start-up activities as required.
Health & Safety Responsibilities
  • Adhere to all company Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) policies.
  • Wear and maintain required PPE at all times.
  • Follow method statements, risk assessments, and safe systems of work.
  • Stop work and report unsafe conditions or practices immediately.
  • Ensure compliance with site-specific safety regulations and permit systems.
Knowledge, Skills & Experience
  • Proven experience as an Instrument Pipe Fitter within the Gas industry, petrochemical, power generation, pharmaceutical, manufacturing, or process industries.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and P&IDs.
  • Experience with tubing installation, bending, and fitting techniques.
  • Knowledge of compression fittings and small-bore tubing systems.
  • Strong understanding of mechanical and instrumentation installation practices.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Experience working on major construction projects
Qualifications
  • Mechanical Engineering, Pipefitting, Engineering Construction, or equivalent.
  • Relevant industry certifications and site safety qualifications.
  • Gas Safety Passport or equivalent.
