Job description

Discipline:Instrumentation & Control (I&C) Technician

Location:Kent, UK

Duration:6 Weeks

Start Date:6th June

Hours:10 hour days, 6 day weeks

PAYE PayRate:

Weekdays - £31.24 +£3.76 hol pay = £35/hr

Weekends - £35.70 + £4.30 hol pay = £40/hr

Lodge Allowance - £55 per day

The Role:

We are currently seeking experienced Instrumentation & Control (I&C) Technicians for a 6-week turbine outage on a Combined Cycle Gas Turbine (CCGT) power station in Kent.

This is a shutdown/maintenance project focused on major turbine inspection and overhaul activities. Candidates must have previous experience supporting turbine outages, ideally on Siemens, GE, or Mitsubishi gas or steam turbines within the CCGT sector.

Key Responsibilities:

- Support I&C scope during major turbine inspection and maintenance

- Perform calibration, functional checks, and loop testing of instruments (pressure, temperature, flow, vibration, etc.)

- Assist in fault-finding and rectification of turbine control systems

- Work with DCS/PLC systems during shutdown and recommissioning

- Liaise with supervisors and mechanical teams to ensure safe and efficient task execution

- Complete documentation for inspections, test results, and commissioning support

Requirements:

- Proven turbine outage experience

- Valid CCNSG

- NVQ3 or City & Guilds or equivalent
