Join our team now at Siemens Healthineers as Instrument Assembly Technician within the Specialty Lab Diagnostics business line at our facility in Llanberis.

This is a great opportunity to join and support the delivery of a crucial strategic project for our SLS business line and Llanberis. As an Instrument Assembly Technician, you will be empowered to build, test, develop, and standardise all manufactured assembly processes, following the standards set out in IED (Interactive Electronic Documentation), which is equivalent to a digital batch record. This will form the overall construction of an IMMULITE XPi analyser.

You will work in partnership with the existing instrument knowledge transfer team to develop best practices in workstation design and manufacturing flow, ensuring a smooth manufacturing ramp-up and the development of a world-class operation at our Llanberis facility.

This role will start on a day shift from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm, moving to 6 am to 2 pm and 2 pm to 10 pm shift patterns, five days per week.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Build and test mechanical and electrical assemblies following IED standards.
  • Contribute to the process control and disposition of non-conforming materials, completing tasks, documentation, and segregating materials as required within documented working practices.
  • Communicate effectively with internal and external suppliers/stakeholders. Act as a point of contact to escalate issues, ensuring consistency and adherence to processes.
  • Complete assigned training within the defined timescales.
  • Support internal and third-party site audits.
  • Participate in TS5QDIP meetings, provide accurate reports, and take ownership of KPIs and operational performance targets.
  • Utilize business systems such as IED, CATSWEB, CERDAAC, SAP, Documentum, and Learn4U.
  • Ensure compliance with QMS and all safety, health, and environmental legislation.
Your Skills & Experience:
  • Curious, eager to learn, with excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and specifications.
  • Proficiency with testing equipment and tools for mechanical and electrical assembly.
  • Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
  • Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks.
  • Knowledge of GDP & GMP practices.
Desirable Qualifications:
  • 3+ years’ experience in manufacturing.
  • Electrical and mechanical knowledge.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Experience with IMMULITE XPI or similar diagnostic equipment.
  • Understanding of quality control and assurance.
  • Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing principles.
