Job description

Instrument and Control Technician

We're looking for an Instrument and Control Technician to join the Maintenance team in Milford Haven, Pembrokeshire close to Haverfordwest in South-West Wales.

Role Overview:

As an Instrument and Control Technician, you will be responsible for the installation, calibration, maintenance, and repair of various instruments and control systems used in operations.

Responsibilities:

  • Install, configure, and calibrate instrumentation and control systems, such as sensors, transmitters, controllers, and data acquisition devices.
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose issues in instrumentation and control systems, both hardware and software related, to identify faults and implement timely repairs.
  • Conduct preventive maintenance on instruments and control equipment to ensure optimal performance and prolong their lifespan.
  • Participate in regular inspections and tests to verify the accuracy and functionality of instruments and control systems.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as an Instrument and Control Technician or a similar role, with hands-on experience in maintaining and troubleshooting instrumentation and control systems.
  • Strong knowledge of various control systems, including Distributed Control Systems (DCS), Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC), and Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, engineering drawings, and electrical schematics.
  • Proficiency in using diagnostic tools, calibration equipment, and software applications for instrumentation and control.

This is an excellent opportunity to secure a long-term contract with lodge and subsistence paid for a 9 day fortnight.
