Job description

instructor of Motor Vehicles - Milton Keynes

Academics are currently recruiting on behalf of a specialist educational provision for an Instructor of Motor Vehicles based in Milton Keynes. This is a full-time, term-time-only role (37 hours per week, Monday to Friday), offering a salary range of 26,519 to 35,125 (actual), depending on experience and qualifications.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a skilled professional with experience in motor vehicle instruction and a passion for working with young people who face social, emotional, or behavioural challenges. The position is based in Milton Keynes, within a well-established vocational workshop setting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging sessions in motor vehicle studies, including health and safety, engine building, and general maintenance.
  • Prepare and assess students for an accredited qualification (SEG).
  • Maintain a safe and well-equipped workshop environment.
  • Create schemes of work, lesson plans, and support materials tailored to a variety of learner needs.
  • Promote high levels of attendance, engagement, and course completion.

Requirements:

  • Recognised trade qualification and a minimum Level 2 qualification.
  • Experience working with students with additional needs is desirable.
  • Ability to plan and deliver accredited vocational training.
  • Commitment to student safety and well-being, including adherence to health and safety standards.
  • Strong communication and organisational skills.

The role will be based at a vocational provision in Milton Keynes, providing essential technical education to students with varying levels of need. As part of your role, you will be expected to develop innovative learning strategies, assess student progress, and support learners to succeed both practically and academically.
