We are seeking an individual to undertake a dual role of: Instructor / Game and Wildlife (0.5 FTE) - Up to £25,611 pro-rated (dependent upon qualifications and experience);
Apprenticeship Progress Mentor / Game and Wildlife (0.5 FTE) - Up to £31,773 pro-rated (dependent upon qualifications and experience).
Sparsholt College has a national reputation for training gamekeepers and wildlife managers, many of whom are now in key roles across the UK. We are seeking to recruit a suitably qualified and experienced person to work as an Instructor/Apprenticeship Progress Mentor. The role involves supporting apprentices, liaising with the estates who employ them, and instructing learners and apprentices in gamekeeping, land, and wildlife management skills during their college study blocks. The role also includes working closely within a supportive Land and Wildlife team, delivering learning to other (non-apprentice) gamekeeping students at the campus.
Candidates should have experience in gamekeeping or a related role. Ideally, candidates will hold a minimum of a Level 2 qualification in a relevant subject. You should be self-motivated, have the aptitude to work with young people, and a desire to help educate the next generation of gamekeepers and wildlife managers. The successful applicant will be trained and supported to attain recognised teaching and assessing qualifications, which will be gained over time.
This role could suit someone wishing to change their career or a recently qualified individual eager to start their career in training and development, as support and training will be provided. A full driving licence is essential, as the role involves visiting estates over a wide geographical area.
