About the role

As one of our Installation Specialists based in a Customer Delivery Hub, you'll have the opportunity to bring our John Lewis service directly to customers' homes, installing products such as furniture, kitchen appliances, sound systems, and TV sets as part of a 2-person delivery crew.

Due to the nature of the role, applicants must be 18 years or older.

Key Responsibilities

Please note the starting rate for a Customer Delivery Hub, Driver Trainee, is £36,204 annually.

Your day will start at your delivery hub before heading out on route, where your responsibilities will include:

  • Being an ambassador for the John Lewis brand with excellent customer service as your top priority.
  • Helping load your lorry with the day's deliveries, working alongside the warehouse team.
  • Showing respect and courtesy for customers' homes and handling unexpected situations to find the best solutions.
  • Installing products efficiently and demonstrating their use to customers.
  • Staying updated with new products and technologies to perform your role effectively.
  • Maintaining a safe working environment.
Essential skills/experience

Previous installation experience is required, with training provided through our installer accreditation. Additional skills include:

  • Manual C1 UK driving license (max 6 points)
  • DCPC and Tachograph Card
  • Experience driving a 7.5-tonne vehicle
  • Customer-facing experience
  • Excellent verbal communication skills
  • Physical ability to handle large items such as sofas, white goods, and furniture
  • Good understanding of technology
Desirable skills/experience
  • Installation and disconnection of white goods
  • TV installation
  • Flat pack assembly
