The candidates should possess the following characteristics and skills:

1. Full design process input for modular sub-systems.
2. Definition of mechanical systems from initial concepts through to the detail design stage.
3. Cross-functional stakeholder engagement and management.
4. Complex requirements management, integrating many transverse inputs and producing design solutions that satisfy all areas.
5. In-depth knowledge of manufacturing techniques and how these can drive design solutions.
