Job Description:

At Alchemy, we are working with an established Fine Art installation company that is looking to bring on an Installation Technician/Picture Hanger to their dynamic team.

Key Responsibilities:

• Install 2D and 3D artworks with a focus on accuracy, safety, and visual presentation.
• Use appropriate hanging systems, tools, and hardware (e.g., French cleats, security hangers, museum rails).
• Assess wall types, surfaces, and spatial layouts to determine optimal installation methods.
• Assist with transportation, packing, and unpacking of artworks to museum-quality standards.
• Wrap, pad, and protect artworks using archival materials for storage or transit.
• Measure, level, and align works according to curatorial or client specifications.
• Follow all health and safety procedures and maintain an organized, hazard-free workspace.
• Liaise with curators, clients, project managers, and registrars to coordinate smooth installations.
• Document installation details, artwork conditions, and handling notes for recordkeeping.
• Support setup and takedown of exhibitions and art fairs as required.

Skills & Qualifications:

• Experience in art installation, picture hanging, or fine art handling.
• Strong knowledge of hanging hardware, systems, and professional display techniques.
• Skilled in using power tools and basic carpentry.
• Exceptional attention to detail and professionalism.
• Ability to read and interpret floorplans, layouts, and curator instructions.
