Job Overview:

Demonstrates experience with cabling requirements, including television signal distribution, intercom cabling, and low voltage signal and data systems. Interprets drawings, blueprints, and installs cables, support devices, and terminates UTP, shielded wire, and coaxial cables. Familiar with and able to use installation equipment such as ladders, crimp devices, and basic power tools. Performs installations mainly within healthcare facilities, following protocols and procedures specific to the environment. Responsible for service requests, documenting and validating time, and processing department chargebacks. Assists in projects like nurse call systems, overhead paging, broadband networks, video, and RF signal installations. Interacts directly with customers and vendors, performs walk-throughs, quotes jobs, and schedules work. Must be available for on-call service as required by RWJBH Technical Services Division. Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• High School diploma or equivalent, trade school, or relevant job experience.
• Available for on-call service as required.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to customer locations.
• Ability to lift 55 lbs.

Essential Functions:

• Maintain high productivity through communication with customers and technical team leaders.
• Attend meetings as required.
• Competent in installing cabling, support devices, and connectors, with ability to perform functional testing.
• Understand RWJBH policies, procedures, and the use of work order systems.
• Coordinate with manufacturer representatives and third-party vendors.
• Complete annual training and competencies.
• Address customer service concerns effectively.
• Document all work performed and obtain necessary signatures.
• Participate in optional on-call emergency support based on staffing.
