Job summary

Robert Hurst Limited is seeking an experienced Installation & Service Engineer (Lead Fitter) to lead LEV system installations across the UK. This hands-on role requires on-site leadership, accurate testing, and collaboration with sales and manufacturing to meet design intent.

You will install ductwork, hoods, fans, filters and associated equipment, carry out LEV testing, and support fault-finding, servicing and remedial works.

Qualifications

• P601 qualification is essential.
• Proven experience installing and servicing LEV/dust extraction systems.
• Ability to lead installation works on customer sites.
• Willingness to travel across the UK and stay overnight as required.
• Full UK driving licence.

Job description

We are seeking an experienced Installation & Service Engineer (Lead Fitter) to take a leading role in the installation, commissioning support, and testing of LEV systems across the UK. This is a hands‑on role for a competent professional who is confident leading installations on site and ensuring systems perform safely and effectively.

Key responsibilities

• Taking the lead on-site for LEV system installations
• Installing ductwork, hoods, fans, filters, and associated equipment
• Carrying out LEV testing and examinations in between installation work
• Supporting fault-finding, servicing, and remedial works
• Working closely with sales and manufacturing teams to ensure installations meet design intent
• Assisting with manufacture and fabrication of LEV systems when required
• Ensuring all work is carried out safely, professionally, and in line with COSHH and HSE guidance
• Completing job documentation and test records accurately

Essential experience & qualifications

• P601 qualification - essential
• Proven experience installing and servicing LEV / dust extraction systems
• Ability to lead installation works on customer sites
• Strong understanding of workplace safety and COSHH requirements
• Willingness and flexibility to travel across the UK and stay away overnight as required
• Full UK driving licence

• Experience in sheet metal manufacturing or fabrication
• Welding, ductwork fabrication, or workshop-based manufacturing skills
• Background in woodworking, manufacturing, or industrial environments
