Job summary

Selwood Ltd in Liverpool is seeking a dedicated Installation Operative to join our Installations Team at the Liverpool branch. You will work both at our branch yard and on-site for pump installations across the UK.

You’ll be heavily involved in day-to-day operations, coordinating with Installation Supervisors, drivers, and sub-contractors, while prioritising safety and quality on every site. This role offers opportunities to develop practical skills and contribute to varied projects.

Qualifications

• Must be able to work on client sites including construction, wastewater and clean water.
• Willing to travel to jobs across the UK and occasional long days away from home.
• Hold CSCS and National Water Hygiene cards; forklift certification preferred.
• Able to work at heights, in confined spaces and during lone-working conditions.

Responsibilities

• Carry out installations and deinstallations of pumps, pipework and equipment under supervision.
• Assist drivers with loading/unloading, and verify paperwork and item counts.
• Maintain a clean, safe work area on site and coordinate with subcontractors.
• Actively participate in safety measures and report issues to supervision.
• Support the Installations Team with day-to-day branch operations and site visits.

Job description

We're looking for a dedicated and motivated Installation Operative to join our Installations Team our Liverpool branch. This role will involve working both at our branch yard and on-site for pump installations as needed.

The Installation Operative will be heavily involved in the day to day operations of our branch and projects within the surrounding region under the direction of the Installation Supervisors.

Tasks & Responsibilities:

• + Promote and exercise the company's mission statement and core values to deliver the required uniformed approach to an installation across the UK.
• + Carry out installations and deinstallations of pumps, pipework and associated equipment. as directed by the Installation Supervisor
• + Assist our drivers with loading and unloading of our vehicles as well as checking against paperwork, missing items, damages, and fuel charges.
• + Always maintain a clean and organised work area on-site.
• + Work in conjunction with specialist sub-contractors, require completing the project in hand.
• + Put safety first every time, demonstrate the confidence, knowledge, and experience to stop the installation and advise your supervisor if any safety issues arise at any time

Requirements:

• + Must have the aptitude to work on client sites, including construction, wastewater, and clean water.
• + Flexible working hours and be available to be part of an 'on call' rota
• + Must be willing to travel to jobs throughout the UK and on occasions work away from home.
• + Full UK driving licence (no more than 6 points). Preferred (but not essential)
• + Holder of a construction Skills CSCS card
• + National Water Hygiene Card
• + Confined space trained
• + Forklift truck operator certification
• + An understanding of the workings of a temporary / permanent pumping solution This role requires the employees to be willing and able to work at heights, work in confined spaces, lone working and work with sewage.
