Job summary

TEXO Recruitment is seeking an Equipment Installation Coordinator based in Aberdeen to lead on-site installation activities for offshore equipment. You will supervise multi-discipline teams and ensure work complies with safety and project procedures, with regular offshore and international travel.

The role requires a strong technical background, experience supervising site-based installation, and the ability to produce clear site reports and BOMs.

Qualifications

  • Technical qualification such as HNC, technical diploma, or trade certification.
  • Minimum 7 years’ experience in installation, commissioning, fabrication, or maintenance roles involving industrial equipment.
  • Demonstrated experience supervising site-based installation activities.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and coordinate on-site installation activities while remaining hands-on where required.
  • Supervise multi-discipline project teams during installation and removal scopes.
  • Ensure all work is carried out under approved safe systems of work and permit controls.
  • Enforce compliance with client procedures, safety standards, and project requirements.
  • Apply practical knowledge of piping systems, valves, hoses, fittings, and thread types during installation work.
  • Prepare and verify Bills of Materials (BOMs) for installation scopes.
  • Interpret installation drawings, wiring diagrams, and hydraulic/pneumatic schematics.
  • Carry out site surveys and produce structured survey reports.
  • Capture as-built information and produce red-line mark-ups for engineering updates.
  • Install and commission mechanical and electrical systems on specialist offshore equipment.
  • Diagnose and resolve issues across mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems during build and commissioning phases.
  • Produce daily site reports covering completed work and short-term lookahead activities.
  • Record personnel time and hired equipment usage.
  • Update project schedules and progress trackers, including percentage completion and forecast dates.
  • Capture lessons learned and contribute to post-project reports.
  • Regular travel to Aberdeen facilities and frequent UK/international travel, including offshore locations.

Role Overview

TEXO Recruitment is supporting our client in the search for an Equipment Installation Coordinator to join their global installation and commissioning team. Based in Aberdeen, this role supports the planning, removal, and installation of specialist offshore equipment and involves regular offshore assignments and international shipyard project work.

This position combines hands‑on technical involvement with site leadership responsibility. You will oversee multi-discipline installation teams across mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic scopes, ensuring work is delivered safely, efficiently, and in line with project specifications and client procedures. The role requires strong technical understanding, on‑site coordination skills, and disciplined reporting.

Key Responsibilities:

Education & Experience

  • Minimum 7 years’ experience in installation, commissioning, fabrication, or maintenance roles involving industrial equipment
  • Demonstrated experience supervising site‑based installation activities
Core Skills & Competencies
  • Good working knowledge of multi‑discipline installation practices
  • Strong safety awareness and permit‑to‑work discipline
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office tools
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to test and verify industrial equipment performance
  • Organised approach to site reporting and documentation
  • Offshore survival certification (e.g., BOSIET / HUET) or willingness to obtain
  • Rigging and lifting experience
  • Forklift truck license
  • Experience using project scheduling tools (e.g., Microsoft Project)
  • Exposure to 3D scanning or digital site survey technology
