Vacancy Details

Location: Mobile – Birmingham areas
Driving Licence: Must hold a valid UK Driving Licence
Salary: Up to £43,500 per annum
Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 8am–5pm (40 hrs/week)
Contract Type: Permanent

A respected UK-based provider of infrastructure and facilities services is seeking a skilled electrical engineer with strong project installation experience for roles in critical infrastructure environments. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering compliant, high-quality installations across a range of live sites.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver all electrical works effectively, efficiently, and to professional standards

  • Ensure compliance with current regulations in all electrical installations

  • Work independently or as part of a team on project installations

  • Demonstrate post-apprenticeship experience working as an electrical engineer

  • Interpret technical drawings/specifications and order required materials

  • Take responsibility for job completion and, when needed, supervise others

  • Install and adapt systems including cable containment, lighting, and power circuits

  • Perform all testing and inspection activities, including certification

  • Support project estimation with accurate technical information

  • Report project progress in line with the programme and adhere to RAMS

  • Conform to health and safety regulations and good engineering practices

  • Willing to work in secure or sensitive environments

Candidate Profile

We're looking for a dependable, experienced electrical engineer who has hands-on project installation skills and a track record of working in live, operational buildings. You should be self-motivated and technically competent, with the ability to work efficiently both independently and within a team.

Essential Qualifications and Skills:
  • City & Guilds 2360 Part 1 & 2 or NVQ Level 3 equivalent

  • City & Guilds 2382-10 (18th Edition)

  • City & Guilds 2391-10 Inspection & Testing (essential)

  • City & Guilds 2391-20 Design & Verification (preferred)

  • Experience in Initial Verification, Periodic Inspection, and remedial works

  • Commercial installation experience, including LV systems

  • Awareness of safe systems of work and permits

  • Knowledge of DC/UPS systems is a plus

Additional Training (Preferred):
  • First Aid, IPAF, PASMA (training available)

  • SMSTS, SSSTS, or IOSH preferred
