Job summary

Yunex Traffic UK in Newcastle upon Tyne is seeking an Installation Engineer to join a multi-disciplined engineering team delivering traffic signal installation, wiring, testing and commissioning on Plus+, ELV and LV systems. You will undertake installation and maintenance on highways infrastructure, work outdoors, with a driving license and company van provided; training and overtime benefits.

The role offers a 37.5-hour week, annual bonus, generous holidays, PPE and pension, with opportunities

Qualifications

• Ideally possess an electrical qualification or some relevant experience (training provided for those without).
• Cooperative and proactive, with a willingness to learn and adapt.
• Ability to transition between tasks and work areas while acquiring new skills.
• Detail-oriented, reliable, and committed to delivering quality work.
• Strong communication skills and a team player mentality.
• Full UK Driving License required; company van and tools provided.
• Comfortable working outdoors and at heights.

Responsibilities

• Conduct electrical tests and pre-commissioning checks.

Reporting to the Normanton depot in West Yorkshire, you will work as part of a multi-disciplined engineering team delivering traffic signal installation activities for Newcastle City Council and the surrounding area. The role is predominantly focused on carrying out second-fix traffic signal installation, wiring, testing and commissioning activities on Plus+, ELV and LV traffic signal systems.

You will safely undertake installation, repair, modification and maintenance activities on both new and existing highways infrastructure, ensuring all works are completed to the required Yunex Traffic standards. This will include works of both planned and reactive nature, requiring flexibility to respond to operational and customer requirements.
