Job summary

Academics is recruiting for an ambitious and dedicated Year 6 Class Teacher in Hatfield for a two-term contract starting September 2026. The post is at a two-form entry school on the borders of Hatfield, currently rated Good by Ofsted.

You will deliver high-quality teaching across the class, groups and individuals, plan engaging lessons with clear objectives and sequences, and set high expectations for pupil behaviour to secure excellent progress.

Qualifications

• Strong understanding of the UK National Curriculum and other statutory requirements.
• Ability to address subject-related questions and provide clear explanations.
• Experience in identifying clear teaching objectives, content, and lesson structures.
• Able to set and maintain high expectations for pupil behaviour.

Responsibilities

• Teach a mixed Year 6 class with pupils of varying abilities and ensure each pupil reaches their full potential.
• Deliver high-quality teaching across whole class, groups, and individuals.
• Plan lessons with clear objectives, appropriate content, and sequences according to the subject matter.
• Set high expectations for pupil learning and behaviour and maintain a good standard of discipline.
• Use engaging teaching methods to keep pupils engaged and foster motivation.
