Job Description:

Write a short description of your company, a boilerplate of the business, service or product that you offer. Include your business idea and the target audience. This text is primarily supposed to be descriptive, not selling.

A high-achieving and inclusive primary school in Kensington is seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Year 2 Teacher to join its dedicated team on a full-time, permanent basis from September 2025. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a well-respected school that values creativity, academic excellence, and child-centred learning.

About the School

Nestled in the heart of Kensington, this 2-form entry primary school combines traditional values with innovative teaching practices. The school has a reputation for high standards, a rich and varied curriculum, and a strong sense of community. Pupils are engaged, curious, and well-behaved, and the school is proud of its inclusive, nurturing approach.

Rated Good by Ofsted, the school provides a supportive and dynamic environment where both pupils and staff thrive. There is a strong commitment to staff development and collaboration, with shared planning, regular CPD, and a positive, team-focused culture.

About the Role

The school is looking for a passionate and skilled Year 2 teacher to lead a class of enthusiastic learners through a crucial year of academic and personal growth. You will be responsible for preparing pupils for the end of Key Stage 1 assessments (SATs), planning engaging lessons, and ensuring that every child is supported to reach their full potential.

You’ll work alongside a parallel Year 2 teacher and be supported by a full-time teaching assistant. Shared planning time and collaborative professional development ensure you won’t be working in isolation.

What the School is Looking For

- A qualified teacher with QTS

- Experience teaching Key Stage 1, ideally with a solid understanding of the Year 2 curriculum and assessment frameworks

- Strong classroom management and organisational skills

- A reflective practitioner who is eager to grow professionally

- A team player with excellent communication and interpersonal skills

- A genuine passion for supporting children’s academic and emotional development

What the School Offers

- A warm, inclusive school community where staff feel valued

- Motivated and respectful pupils who enjoy learning

- Shared planning and excellent TA support within the year group

- Access to high-quality CPD and clear career progression routes

- A leadership team that is approachable, transparent, and supportive

- A strong emphasis on well-being and a healthy work-life balance
