Job summary

Academics is seeking a committed SEND Teacher to join our Secondary Mainstream hub in Farnham, Surrey. The role focuses on delivering 1:1 and small group intervention for students with SEND, including those with EHCPs, within The Hub.

You will work with KS3–KS4 students, adapt teaching to diverse needs, and collaborate with the Deputy SENCO and English department to raise achievement while safeguarding and supporting student wellbeing.

Qualifications

  • Excellent communication and classroom management skills.
  • Ability to inspire, motivate and support students with a range of additional needs
  • Understanding of adaptive teaching strategies and SEND best practice
  • Dedicated to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of young people
  • Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • We welcome applications from both SEND specialists and primary or secondary trained teachers.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver engaging intervention through 1:1 and small group teaching within The Hub.
  • Adapt learning to meet a range of SEND needs, including students with EHCPs.
  • Support KS3 and KS4 students working below age-related expectations.
  • Create a nurturing and inclusive learning environment that builds confidence and resilience.
  • Monitor student progress and provide targeted feedback and support.
  • Work collaboratively with the Deputy SENCO, Progress Mentors and English department to support student success.
  • Contribute to the continued development of The Hub and wider SEND provision.
