Job summary

Tradewind Recruitment is seeking an enthusiastic PE Teacher to join a specialist school in Wood Green, North London, supporting secondary pupils with PMLD. Start ASAP and the role is initially for 1 month with potential extension.

You will plan and deliver engaging PE sessions, adapt activities for complex needs, work with teaching assistants, and help pupils develop confidence and independence in a safe, inclusive environment.

Qualifications

• Must have QTS or relevant teaching experience.
• Experience teaching PE within a SEND setting is preferred.
• Patient, creative and nurturing approach is essential.
• Excellent behaviour management and communication skills.
• Genuine passion for supporting pupils with complex needs.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging PE sessions for pupils aged 11–16.
• Adapt activities to suit individual physical, communication and learning needs.
• Work closely with teaching assistants and the multidisciplinary team.
• Support pupils' physical development, confidence and independence.
• Create a safe, positive and inclusive learning environment.
• Contribute to the wider life of the school.
