Job summary

Milk Education are recruiting a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant in Barnet to join a nurturing primary school. This role supports children with additional needs to achieve academically and personally within an inclusive setting.

You will work closely with class teachers and the SEND team across the primary range, helping pupils engage with learning and reach individual targets in a caring environment.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as an SEN Teaching Assistant or similar role.
• Experience supporting children with SEND within a school or care setting.
• Patient, nurturing and resilient approach.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Working as an SEN Teaching Assistant to support pupils with additional learning needs.
• Providing 1:1 support and small-group interventions throughout the school day.
• Supporting children with ASD, ADHD, speech and language needs, SEMH and learning difficulties.
• Assisting pupils in accessing the curriculum and achieving their learning targets.
• Supporting the implementation of EHCPs and personalised support plans.
• Encouraging positive behaviour, confidence and independence.
• Working collaboratively with teachers, SEND professionals and parents.
• Supporting pupils' social, emotional and academic development.
