Job summary

Polaris Education - Martha H School in Wigan, Lancashire is seeking a dedicated SEN Teacher to deliver high-quality lessons in line with the National Curriculum, addressing ASC and SEMH needs.

The role is full time, term-time only, 37.5 hours per week, with a salary of £28,000–£39,520 depending on experience. You will join a supportive team and contribute to creating a safe, inspiring learning environment.

Qualifications

• Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
• Suitable qualification to degree level.
• Previous successful teaching experience.
• Some previous experience of working with pupils with SEND within an educational setting.
• Experience of behaviour management and techniques.
• Committed to professional development and willing to learn.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for the planning and delivery of high-quality lessons within the National Curriculum whilst meeting the complex ASC & SEMH needs of all pupils.
• Supporting the class team in facilitating learning opportunities and promoting positive behaviours.
• Reporting on pupils' progress and concerns, and liaising with other school staff to ensure pupils' needs are met.
• Supervision of pupils during non-classroom time, including extra-curricular activities and school trips.
• Building positive relationships with pupils and driving interaction and positive learning outcomes.
