Gateway Teachers are recruiting a dedicated Science Teacher to join a well-established secondary school in North Northamptonshire. You will plan, deliver and assess high-quality science lessons across Biology, Chemistry and Physics, aiming to raise attainment and foster curiosity.

The role requires QTS or equivalent and a science degree, with experience at KS3/KS4 and ideally KS5. You will work in an inclusive environment committed to staff development and student success.

Qualifications

  • QTS or equivalent teaching qualification; degree required.
  • Degree in Biology, Chemistry or Physics.
  • Experience teaching science at KS3 and KS4; KS5 desirable.
  • Strong classroom management and communication with students and parents.
  • Commitment to professional development and passion for science education.
  • Right to work in the UK.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging science lessons aligned to the national curriculum.
  • Teach Biology, Chemistry, and Physics; specialist in one area is welcome.
  • Assess progress and provide feedback to support student development.
  • Foster a positive, inclusive classroom and promote active learning.
  • Prepare students for GCSE examinations to achieve target grades.
  • Contribute to extracurricular activities and professional development.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to share best practices and resources.
  • Attend department meetings, parent evenings, and school events.
  • Keep up-to-date with developments in science education.
